Privacy Policy

GoalTamer is operated by LSN lab ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Local-First Architecture

GoalTamer is a local-first application. When used without an account, all your data stays on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to your goals, tasks, rituals, analytics, or any other content you create in the app.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 When You Create an Account

If you choose to create an account for multi-device sync and Pro features, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Display name (if provided)
  • Authentication tokens (OAuth via Google or GitHub)

2.2 Synced Content

When sync is enabled, your goals, tasks, rituals, and related data are transmitted to our servers to enable multi-device access. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS.

2.3 AI Coach

If you use AI Coach features (briefing, tips, goal decomposition), relevant portions of your data are sent to our server and processed using third-party AI providers (OpenAI). We send only the minimum context needed for each request. AI providers do not use your data for training purposes.

2.4 Early Access Email

If you submit your email on this website to be notified about launch, we store your email address, preferred language, and submission date. This data is stored in a private Google Spreadsheet and is used solely to notify you about GoalTamer availability.

2.5 Payment Data

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment processing.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and maintain the service (sync, AI Coach, integrations)
  • To authenticate your identity
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions
  • To send launch notifications (early access emails only)
  • To respond to support requests

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google OAuth / GitHub OAuth — for authentication
  • OpenAI — for AI Coach features (data processing, not training)
  • Stripe — for payment processing
  • Google Calendar / Microsoft Outlook — for calendar integrations (Pro feature, user-initiated)

5. Data Retention

Your synced data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. Local data on your device is not affected by account deletion.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data
  • Export your data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Use the app without an account (fully local mode)

7. Cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies or analytics. The application uses local storage for preferences and session management only.

8. Children

GoalTamer is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
